Arta fabric derives its name from "Gertan," the Arabic word for garden, evoking a sense of natural beauty. This textile draws from a rich heritage, where a vibrant textile industry blossomed in the 18th century alongside the preservation of traditional crafts such as basket weaving from palm leaves and pottery, some of the oldest arts on the island.
