That's why we are thrilled to continue our special partnership with the talented artist, Alice Kettle, and the inspiring craft groups of refugees. For this unique project, we have chosen our vibrant Carnival fabric by Michael Szell as the foundation of the quilt design. Drawing upon the essence of the Carnival's distinctive pattern, Alice and the refugee craft group skilfully hand-embroidered outlines and infused the design with life, using beautifully executed running stitched designs. What makes this quilt truly special is the addition of free-hand stitched leaf motifs, sprinkled throughout the design. These spontaneous elements not only complement the Carnival fabric's liveliness but also symbolize the resilience and adaptability of the human spirit, embodying the journeys and stories of the refugee artisans.
