Our inspiration for “Sacred Geometry" is an antique quilt from Smaland, Sweden. Smaland (a mid-southern province in Sweden where we manufacturer our hand crafted, Eleish Van Breems Home Swedish furniture collection), historically is a leader in the art of handicraft, whether it is furniture, textiles or wall coverings. We celebrate the art of handicraft by paying homage to the artisans both in Sweden, as well as on Nantucket, whose stories, talents and community thrive in their creations, and keep the maker crafts so valued. 

Our stitching inspiration is the Sashiko embroidery technique. There is such an organic sympatico and respected dialogue between Scandinavian “less is more” and Japanese Wabi Sabi, so it seems in harmony to bring in a little bit of “Japadi” into the mix, creating a fusion of sacred geometry.
