The La Jungle Embroidered Cushion – Green Editions 1 & 2 is a vivid expression of artistry and narrative, where the exuberant world of Raoul Dufy is reimagined through the hand of Alice Kettle. Drawn from the Dufy archive and exclusively produced by Christopher Farr Cloth, La Jungle unfolds as a joyful tableau of leopards and elephants moving through lush foliage, rendered with the artist’s unmistakable fluid line and painterly spontaneity.
In this green colourway, the composition takes on a rich, verdant depth alive with movement and layered detail, evoking both the vitality of nature and the decorative elegance of mid-century French design.
Each cushion is hand embroidered by Alice Kettle, whose expressive, intuitive stitching overlays the printed linen with gesture and texture. Working in cotton thread, she responds to the forms, tracing, emphasising and subtly disrupting the composition, bringing a new rhythm and dimensionality to the surface. The result is a one-of-a-kind textile artwork, where no two pieces are ever the same.
The reverse, in Soprano Green linen, provides a tonal, textural counterpoint, grounding the vibrancy of the front. The cushion is framed with Circus piping in green, a soft yet defined edge that enhances the palette while maintaining a refined finish.
Presented as Edition 1 and Edition 2, these cushions transcend the decorative, becoming collectible objects that celebrate heritage, craftsmanship and artistic dialogue.

About the Artists
Raoul Dufy (1877–1953) was a pioneering French artist celebrated for his joyful use of colour, expressive line and decorative compositions. His work spans painting, textile design and illustration, and remains influential for its lightness, movement and imaginative approach to pattern.
Alice Kettle is internationally recognised for her expressive embroidered works, where stitch becomes a form of drawing. Her intuitive, painterly approach transforms textiles into narrative surfaces, with works held in major collections including the V&A. In this collaboration, her hand brings a new dimension to Dufy’s design—layering gesture, texture and individuality onto each piece.
