LUCY HAMMOND GILES X CHRISTOPHER FARR IN PARTNERSHIP WITH TURQUOISE MOUNTAIN
Designed by Lucy Hammond Giles of Sibyl Colefax & John Fowler, in collaboration with Turquoise Mountain - the charity founded by His Majesty King Charles III, our Kings Road showroom was transformed into a tribute to traditional craft and cultural heritage.
At the heart of the installation was Meditation in Blue, a hand-knotted rug by Christopher Farr. Lucy’s scheme was created in celebration of a new collection of rugs produced in partnership with Turquoise Mountain and crafted by the artisan weavers of Bamiyan. The room also featured our Algonquin wallpaper, designed by Scott Yetman, a thoughtful pairing of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary design. These textiles were layered with artisan-made ceramics, lighting, and decorative objects created by Turquoise Mountain. Together, these pieces told a powerful story of place, process, and provenance and a celebration of how handmade design enriches modern interiors with authenticity and soul.
Turquoise Mountain works globally to revive heritage craft traditions, supporting artisan communities and preserving cultural identities through skilled making. This installation was a thoughtful reminder that meaningful design is not just about aesthetics, but about intention, connection, and care.
