To celebrate the coronation of His Majesty King Charles III, the house of Christopher Farr Cloth has reimagined a design from the archive of renowned designer Michael Szell. The unique design called Richmond is inspired by an original textile design that Szell, a Royal Warrant holder, created during his tenure as an interior designer for members of the British Royal Family. The new Richmond fabric is presented in four contemporary hues, Aqua, Dark Indigo, Hot Pink and Peach. It is printed at the same family-owned printers, in West London, that Szell worked with on the original material.

Returns

The Company does not accept returns or exchanges for Cloth fabric or wallpaper which has been cut, altered and/or hung. Returns and exchanges of Cloth fabric and wallpaper in other circumstances shall be accepted only at the sole discretion of the Company, and only if the claim is notified in writing within 7 days from the date of delivery. A 30% restocking fee will apply at the time of return.

Fusing classic chintz with 1960s psychedelia, Michael Szell’s textiles are as exuberant as the designer's life. Arriving in London from Hungary in the post-war years, Szell studied at the Royal College of Art, quickly finding his métier in flamboyant colours, maximalist patterns and oversized motifs. The opening of his Chelsea showroom paved the way for an illustrious career, including a period as chief stylist at Harrods and multiple royal commissions – notably the Throne Room of Windsor Castle. Christopher Farr Cloth has revived a selection of designs from Szell’s archive, responding to his signature palette with fresh colourways for the modern age.
