Washi wallpaper is created in collaboration with the Japanese design studio Nendo, drawing on the collection’s exploration of rain and its fleeting, atmospheric beauty. Crafted using time-intensive traditional Japanese paper making techniques, it is our first wallpaper produced on handmade washi paper. Layers of long fibres are formed by hand over time, allowing pigment and water to settle naturally across the surface and create softly irregular vertical markings, quiet, rhythmic and deeply atmospheric.

As the ground base for Cloudy Washi wallpaper, this design celebrates the beauty of material itself. The inherent variation of handmade washi gives each panel subtle shifts in tone and texture, creating a calm, tactile backdrop with exceptional craftsmanship and artisanal character.
